These days, just about everyone has an opinion on the feud between Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan.
The two anchors of Yellowstone have been reportedly clashing of late regarding contract negotiations as the popular TV show prepares to return for the second half of season five, this summer.
Sheridan, the creator and showrunner of Yellowstone (and its numerous spinoffs), has been drumming up some dirt with his star actor, even accusing Costner of being selfish, greedy, and egotistical.
Nevertheless, Costner has refrained and done the exact opposite, remaining silent on the subject and allowing his legal team to do the talking.
A lawyer representing Costner insists that the 68-year-old star is not violating the terms of his contract with the show.
Meanwhile, the network – Paramount – has reluctantly straddled the middle attempting to defuse the situation like someone attempting to break up a fight.
Since then, many people, both inside and outside Yellowstone, have raised concerns regarding the show's future. The feud has ignited a firestorm of gossip and rumors on social media.
Moreover, it's led to Yellowstone co-stars, like Wes Bentley, commenting on the situation. Now, cast members Piper Perabo and Lainey Wilson, also have something to say about the beef.
Perabo, who portrays an animal rights activist in Yellowstone, has received a more substantial role since she first arrived in season four.
The character has befriended John Dutton and transformed into his love interest. Meanwhile, Wilson plays Abby, a country singer that is one of the new characters for season five.
Together, the two actors recently sat down with ET Online and had many things to say about Costner's departure from Yellowstone.
First, Wilson was adamant that Sheridan will find a way to end Yellowstone "the right way". The actress addressed rumors that Yellowstone is taking a premature exit after completing season five, indicating there will be more of the most popular show on cable TV.
Secondly, Perabo was quick to defend Costner, who has assumed the role of villain regarding the dispute with Paramount and Taylor Sheridan.
"[He's] so amazing," Perabo praised Costner, adding that he is an inspiration to work with and that his talent is unquestionable.
Furthermore, he always shows up ready and prepared. Costner is the ultimate professional, according to Perabo, who also confirms that there is always a lot of drama both on screen and behind the camera in Yellowstone.
Needless to say, she doesn't buy into the rumors. The actress reminded fans not to believe everything they hear, as Sheridan has always played his cards close to his chest.
However, even if she knew something, Perabo is committed to keeping it internal. "I know better than to speak outside the ranch," Perabo remarked, adding that she's excited to see what happens next in Yellowstone.
Is this the beginning of the end? Only time will tell, yet Perabo and Wilson are not ready to pack their bags and prepare for the next chapter of their career.
Perhaps fans should exercise the same caution before anything becomes official.
